Definition: Events internally or outside the hospital or community that may potentially activate the Emergency Operations Plan outside or in addition to the Codes addressed in this binder.
Physician Notification:
Depending on the emergency/disaster Staff will be notified the Emergency Operations Plan has been activated via the following methods
- Overhead Announcement
- Department Phone Tree/ASCOM Page
- Everbridge
- Digital Signage
- Runner
Physician Response:
Once alerted a Code has been activated Physicians should:
- Review Emergency Procedures Unit Plan and/or inquire with Staff member as to appropriate response.
- Assist to ensure care safety and welfare of Patients Visitors and Staff have been attended to.
- Maintain situational awareness and be prepared to receive additional guidance/information.
